An affair can kill you

Hospital entranceThe American Heart Association recently published a report that stated that men, who cheat on their spouse, are more likely to die during sex than men having sex with their own partner. Now there is something to worry about! Unless of course your not cheating, but swinging in which case you don’t have the stress of your partner finding out.

According to the report, so the Dailymail tells, affairs are often with a younger woman and in an unfamiliar setting, which adds extra stress to the activity. The scientists, led by Professor Glenn Levine, from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, stated that autopsy reports of nearly 6.000 cases of sudden death found 0.6 per cent happened during sex. These are no big numbers, however, 93 per cent of that 0.6 per cent died during sex were thought to be engaging in extra-marital sex. However, professor Levine doesn’t want to blow this to much out of context: “Without being sarcastic, I really can state that I have not had a patient who asked me about the cardiac risks of an extramarital affair”, so he stated in the Dailymail.

Most people with heart conditions can safely resume their sex lives after treatment by doctors. The study found patients could resume sex as soon as one week after a relatively mild heart attack. That is as long as they can walk up and down stairs without discomfort. Viagra and other medicine for erectile dysfunction are generally safe for men with stable heart disease.
