ringsA recent study of 2000 adults shows that people who met at work and fell in love are more likely to end up in marriage than relationships that start in any other way. 14 per cent of the married couples met each other at work. Also meeting through friends resulted in long term love (11 per cent of the couples).

The less succesfull meeting places for long term romances are holidays and pubs.

Key factors for the long lasting ‘office love’ are the stresses and strains of work and the sheer number of hours we spend with colleagues.

Researchers also found that 51 per cent of people think the place or situation where you meet someone can affect how successful the relationship is.

And now we would like to know: where have you met your partner!

Some people may find true love at work but some may end up just dating because of proximity (same reason your best friend from childhood just happened to live down the block). Others may not have felt that immediate chemistry but the other person grew on them over time.

My wife and I met on an internet dating site. I our experience, talking to other married couples, most of our friends met the same way. Work place relationships are just too complex and if it doesn't work out there is gossip...no one wants that. The traditional places of meeting others for dating through friends, church, and hobbies is just to limited to find that someone who fits the "personality puzzle" for a lasting relationship.

I met my wife at work. I was single. Later, I found out she was engaged. I literally took her out to dinner at least a half dozen times.

She cheated on me 3 times in 7 years.

We were divorced here in AZ yesterday. No shit...
