Good for health

Kissing indeed has many benefits for health. It's is a physical activity with effect on both the limbic system and the cerebral cortex of your brain. The limbic system is situated in the old brain, and regulates survival and sex. It activates bodily functions as the heart rate, breathing and perspiration.

  • Kissing lowers blood pressure, stimulates blood circulation in the face (smooth skin!) and stabilizes the cardiovascular system.
  • A passionate kiss will burn approximately 2-3 calories, so a couple of kisses a day will help you lose weight.
  • Kissing is good to tight your facial muscles because when you kiss you use around 30 muscles in your face.
  • Results of studies show that when you kiss often you might have fewer problems with stomach, bladder, and blood infections.
  • Saliva production increases during kissing. Because saliva is a natural painkiller kissing will reduce pain.
  • A good kiss stimulates the production of the hormone Oxytocin. This natural hormone makes you feel more calm and relaxed.
  • Another hormone released by kissing is endorphin, also known as the body’s natural morphine.
